Ronald Petty, 51, of Burlington, died at 7:25 a.m. Saturday, Dec 1, 2001, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Born April 21 1950, in Princeton, Mo. he was the son of Harold and Myrtle Petty.
Mr. Petty was a laborer.
He enjoyed hunting, gfishing, camping and being outdoors. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include one son, Donald Petty of Charleston, S.C.; his mother, Myrtle Schwerin of Burlington; his grandmother, Opal Kuntz of Burlington; his grandfather, Cecil Jones of Burlington; one sister, Connie Thornton of Mediapolis; three brothers, Dannie Petty, Randy Dykes and Todd Dykes, all of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Prugh's Chapel
The funeral for Mr. Petty will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel, with Dixie Winstead officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been estabilished.
